On July 5, 1934, San Francisco police, backed up by the National Guard, opened fire on a group of 2,000 dockworkers, sailors and other maritime workers, killing two and wounding scores of others. A reminder of the sacrifices workers made in the past to help build our now endangered middle class

Tony Mazzocchi is one of America's unsung heroes. As a militant labor leader in the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers, he led the fight to unite the labor and environmental movements. He was probably the person most responsible for the creation of OSHA. If you saw the film Silkwood, Tony Mazzocchi was the guy in the office directing the operation.
Shortly after Karen's death, Tony Mazzocchi's car suffered a mysterious steering failure and he was nearly killed on the highway. Makes you wonder doesn't it....

Great. With private sector unions down to about 7% of the workforce, that's all we need is unions fighting each other. I can just hear the champagne corks popping in corporate HQ's around the nation.

One man's dream about how to revive the US economy and make working class life a helluva lot less painful. It's a beautiful dream and not totally unrealistic.
